Alma Kuwabara
Alma Kuwabara is a Franco-Japanese artist based in Paris, France. Working at the intersection of photography, archival imagery, and mixed media, she deconstructs both personal and collective narratives.
Born in 2000, after earning a degree in Economics, she chose to pursue photography and began an MFA at ENS Louis-Lumière in Paris.
Her work explores documentary photography, blending abstraction, subjectivity, and staging. In her personal practice, she seeks to weave connections between these dimensions while delving into themes deeply rooted in her own experience: hybridity, memory, identity, and otherness. These issues are at the heart of her reflection and creation.
